We simply want to help you get your firearms business up and running quickly, and efficiently!
It takes about 60-90 days to get a Federal Firearms License from the ATF. To give yourself the best chances of getting approved our services guide you through the process.
The most common type of FFL, a Type 01 firearm dealer’s license, costs $200 for the first three years and $90 for each three year renewal thereafter.
Other FFL types cost different amounts. For example, a manufacturer’s FFL (a Type 07 FFL) only costs $150 for the first three years, but the price is the same for each three year renewal.
The Founders and team of experts at MyFFLAttorney.com bring a uniques perspective to obtaining your FFL / SOT. Developed by Firearms Attorney Tim Forshey along with industry marketing experts, actual FFL owners and compliance gurus we're your A Team when it comes to guiding you through the entire process and helping you thrive in a super fun business.

Well, that depends.
If you’re interested in buying and selling guns only, it’s likely that a Type 01 FFL for dealers and gunsmiths is right for you. This is, by far, the most popular type of FFL.
However, if you’d like to also manufacture firearms, you should look at the Type 07 FFL.
Don’t worry – you don’t need to make the decision now. We walk you through each FFL type in our Get Your FFL Course.
Also, if you want to work with profitable NFA firearms like silencers, machine guns, short barreled rifles, and more, you’re going to want to also become an SOT. You can get our FFL and SOT course at bundle pricing.
Our introductory course, the Get Your FFL course, costs $59.95 and will give you the critical information to start making decisions about your FFL business.
However, most FFLs also like to work with NFA firearms (a very popular reason for getting an FFL). You can learn how to do this with our Become an SOT course for $49.95. But, if you purchase the FFL/SOT start-up courses bundle, it's $79.95 for both and there are several other benefits and perks provided with the bundle.
We also offer follow-on training for employees, and even an ATF Compliance Services for operational FFLs. We offer a'la carte services for discounted legal, compliance and marketing support so you can tap-into our experts as needed once you complete the online courses.
Yes. The ATF allows home-based FFLs! You just need to know how to navigate the process correctly.
In fact, there are more home-based FFLs in this country than there are storefront/brick-and-mortar businesses.
You'll learn about the important considerations you need to know by taking our courses.
Absolutely not!
You are not giving any rights up by getting a federal license. Just like getting a driver’s license doesn’t make you give up any rights, neither does getting a firearms license. However, it does mean you have to follow certain rules.
Yes, the ATF will be able to inspect your licensed location to ensure you have an accurate inventory and records. However, the ATF is only allowed to inspect once every 12 months.
Typically, the ATF only inspects every 5-7 years.
