The first step is taking the fun and easy to watch video classes. You’ll learn at your own pace from Firearms Expert and Attorney about the in’s and out’s of becoming a Federal Firearms Licensee, the proper documentation, compliance, legal considerations and the different types of Licenses. Watch the online videos on your schedule. Rewind and re-watch as needed.
Once you’ve completed the courses, schedule your one-on-one follow up consultation via
phone, zoom or in-person with your dedicated FFL and Compliance Team to discuss any questions you might have and next steps for your document
preparation, review and application submission to the ATF and business development.
To streamline the process, we offer fingerprinting, application preparation and review, photos and submission services in our Scottsdale AZ office for a nominal fee or we can mail your application packet including all forms and detailed instructions to you to complete if you are out of state.
After submitting your application it's time to start setting your business up for success. You'll have 60-90 days to prepare for launching your business and prepare for your ATF Interview. It takes about 60-90 days to get a Federal Firearms License from the ATF. To give yourself the best chances of getting approved our services guide you through the process.
The most common type of FFL, a Type 01 firearm dealer’s license, costs $200 for the first three years and $90 for each three year renewal thereafter.
Other FFL types cost different amounts. For example, a manufacturer’s FFL (a Type 07 FFL) only costs $150 for the first three years, but the price is the same for each three year renewal.

If you’re interested in buying and selling guns only, it’s likely that a Type 01 FFL for dealers and gunsmiths is right for you. This is, by far, the most popular type of FFL.
However, if you’d like to also manufacture firearms, you should look at the Type 07 FFL.

Also, if you want to work with profitable NFA firearms like silencers, machine guns, short barreled rifles, and more, you’re going to want to also become an SOT. You can get our FFL and SOT course at bundle pricing.

Yes. The ATF allows home-based FFLs! You just need to know how to navigate the process correctly.
In fact, there are more home-based FFLs in this country than there are storefront/brick-and-mortar businesses.

Absolutely not!
You are not giving any rights up by getting a federal license. Just like getting a driver’s license doesn’t make you give up any rights, neither does getting a firearms license. However, it does mean you have to follow certain rules.
Yes, the ATF will be able to inspect your licensed location to ensure you have an accurate inventory and records. However, the ATF is only allowed to inspect once every 12 months.
Typically, the ATF only inspects every 5-7 years.
